Summary

On July 30, 1955, a civilian in Spokane, Washington reported observing one round, shiny object about the size of a baseball with arms held at length. The object appeared to drift slowly. The observation was ground-visual and lasted fifteen minutes. A weather balloon was released from Spokane on July 31 at 3:15 p.m. The investigating officer noted that a WX balloon released from Spokane probably accounts for the sighting.
