Summary

On September 27, 1955, at about 2315Z, a civilian saw a light over Tarrytown, New York. The sighting lasted about five to six minutes.

The witness described one circular, intense light. It traveled a zigzag course with 90-degree turns. The object seemed to collide with aircraft in the area and seemed to be elliptical at times.

The Air Force concluded the description indicated the probability of searchlight activity. The card lists the case as other: searchlight.
