Summary

In June 1947, a civilian near Hamburg, New York, reported seeing a strange object in the sky. The sighting happened at sunset and was made visually from the ground.

The witness described one object shaped like a "crate." It was not very high and appeared to show various rainbow colors. The witness said it was fairly small and moved faster than aircraft. It was seen toward the north, on a heading of about 300 degrees. The object first appeared to be reflecting the sunset, then it changed position and seemed to hold steady.
