· 37 pages
Summary
MKUltra Subproject 106 funded biological research on stimulus-response relationships from January 1961 to January 1962. The project received 12,000 dollars in the first year. It was carried out by a redacted researcher or institution. The work involved studying how animals' brains respond to electrical stimulation. Researchers used electrodes implanted in animal brains to map which areas produce specific reactions. They also reviewed Russian and foreign research in this field. A second phase ran from February 1961 to February 1962, with 21,014 dollars spent. Costs included investigator salary, laboratory technicians, animal care, travel, and overhead. An invoice for 21,855 dollars was submitted in 1963 for services rendered under the subproject.
