MKUltra Subproject 41

This file shows financial and administrative records for MKUltra Subproject 41, which operated from at least 1955 to 1956. The subproject was extended for one year beyond its original January 21, 1956 expiration date by memorandum dated March 12, 1956, approved by the Chief of the TSS/Chemical Division. The surviving documents include budget ledgers, invoices, receipts, and correspondence. One invoice dated October 10, 1955 (Invoice No. 588) shows the purchase of 3,6-Endoxy-3-methylhexahydrophthalic anhydride (1 kilo at $600.00) shipped via parcel post. Other invoices from September 1955 document payments totaling $327.52 and $600.00. A receipt dated November 3, 1955 acknowledges a cashier's check for $600.00. Correspondence from September 1955 discusses delivery of 500 grams of 3,6-endoxy-3-methylhexahydrophthalic anhydride and scheduling changes. Names and specific institutional affiliations are redacted throughout. The documents confirm the project was fully approved and carried out in accordance with memoranda from the DCI to the DD/A.
