MKUltra Subproject 65

MKUltra Subproject 65 was a prediction study funded between 1957 and 1958. The CIA authorized $52,150 in total funds for the project, with $2,150 allocated as supplemental funding in fiscal year 1958. The surviving paperwork shows financial records and invoices for consultation fees paid to researchers including an anthropologist, sociologists, a psychologist, and medical student participant observers. The project involved rating refugee subjects on adjustment variables related to health, occupation, social relationships, and acculturation. Work was completed in 1958, with payments distributed to multiple staff members. The files indicate this was approved by the TSS/Chemical Division under authority granted in April 1953, with extensions in subsequent memoranda.
