Summary

MKUltra Subproject 120 funded experimental research on chemical agents from September 1960 onward. The project had a current-year budget of $20,395.00. Its stated purpose was to provide experimental data and laboratory procedures required in the chemical agent program. According to surviving paperwork, several bioassay techniques applicable to central nervous system activity were under study. A December 5, 1966 memorandum authorized continuation of the work for an additional 2-year period and requested a final accounting of $4,976.81 for the period ending July 1966. A financial report for January through December 1966 shows expenditures totaling $4,976.81, broken down into personnel ($2,171.36), fringe benefits ($167.00), supplies ($35.28), telephone ($11.80), equipment repairs ($72.20), travel ($197.28), equipment ($151.65), stipends ($1,777.32), and overhead ($392.92). The accounting was certified as reflecting expenses for authorized project purposes.
