Summary

On September 1, 1955, in Teddington, England, a civilian reported observing an elliptical, silver object reflecting sunlight. The object displayed no erratic movements and descended smoothly and gradually. The witness observed it for four to five minutes while driving through a wooded area. The object was 15 degrees above the horizon at true azimuth 9 degrees, then gradually decreased from 15 degrees elevation to true azimuth 2 degrees. The witness was wearing polaroid sunglasses and had clear weather with bright sun and slight morning haze. Three aircraft in London traffic pattern were noted. The Air Force evaluation was Insufficient Data for Evaluation.
