Summary

On October 1, 1954, a civilian in Long Beach, California reported observing one round and oblong bright white object with no sound. The object was heading northeast at 15,000 to 20,000 feet altitude. It made a 270 degree right turn and rolled out heading north before fading from view. The observation lasted one second. The investigator noted a probable error in the reported duration, as the object could not have performed detailed maneuvers and then faded in one second. The investigator compared the sighting to a known aircraft report. The Air Force conclusion was insufficient data for evaluation.
