Summary

On November 11, 1957, south of Knoxville, Tennessee, a civilian witness observed an unidentified object similar to an electric light bulb the size of a basketball. The object was yellow, then turned white. It moved up and down, taking about 20 to 25 seconds to travel between two points before suddenly disappearing. The observation lasted five minutes and was viewed through a picture window of a house. Wind conditions were calm with clear skies. A check with balloon schedules showed a balloon was launched just prior to the time of the sighting. The Air Force evaluation is listed as Unknown.
