Summary

On October 11, 1956, in Santee, California, two individuals reported seeing a round, brilliant white object the size of a pin at arm's length. The object moved very high in the sky from southwest to northeast. After 29 minutes of observation, the object appeared stationary. According to the investigator's comments, the object's movement and appearance were probably caused by a balloon. The Air Force evaluated the sighting as unidentified.
