Summary

On November 17, 1960, in Hendersonville, Kentucky, a civilian reported observing an object between 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. The object resembled a glider or chicken hawk and hovered in the area. It had an orange or dark brown or black color and measured about two to three feet in width. The plane-like material dropped in five drops at 1 p.m., with material to fall. The plane departed after drops with tremendous speed. No sound was heard. One witness reported vealed wings like a U-2, and established altitude at 15,000 to 18,000 feet. A sample was sent to ATIC for analysis. The evaluation was unknown.

10. BRIEF SUMMARY OF SIGHTING
a/c like Glidor or "Chicken hawk" hovered in area. observed orange or dark brown or black color. About 2 to 3 feet in width on plane-like material dropped in 5 drops at 1,000 ft. Plane had insignia on fuselage with material to fall. Plane departed after drops with tremendous speed. No sound. Plane call to one witness revealed wings like U-2, and established altitude at 15-18,000 ft. Substance covered large area. sample sent to ATIC for analysis.

11. COMMENTS
Analysis was nylon thread. Air pollution control drop of some sort. NCI Report with State of Kentucky air pollution control due to delay in receiving report.
