Summary
On September 16, 1960, a T-33 pilot flying in the Salina, Kansas area reported a sighting at around 1 a.m. The pilot observed a flash and streak of light at one o'clock high with many colors including blue, red, green, and white. The sighting lasted 30 seconds. The pilot had flown for 20 years and had never seen anything like it. He did not think it was a falling star and suggested it might have been a meteorite or satellite reentry. The Air Force evaluated the sighting as unidentified.
