Summary
On December 7, 1960, in Vandalia, Ohio, a civilian reported seeing a single, round, white light on a photograph. The sighting was observed locally at 2:15 p.m. (GMT 08/01:15Z, December 7, 1960). The witness submitted the photograph to the Air Technical Intelligence Center. The photograph was taken with specific technical parameters including a 9.5-inch aperture, 33-inch focal length, and Schmidt-type optics, with exposure made approximately eight seconds in the northwest direction at 65 to 70 degrees elevation on December 7, 1960. ATIC photoanalysis concluded that the object resulted from a defect in the film emulsion, and no positive identification could be made of the object.
