Summary

On November 9, 1957, a civilian in Lexington, Kentucky reported observing an unidentified object. The witness described a round long streamer with a 4-foot diameter and a 6-foot tail of fire with white flame, falling straight down. A second report described a round white object the size of a dime that was seen flying with the curvature of the earth and remained in sight for 2 to 3 seconds. The observation lasted between 2 and 3 seconds total. The Air Force evaluated the sighting as a meteor.
