Summary

On July 26, 1961, in Dayton, Ohio, a civilian observer reported sighting an object between 1 p.m. and 1:20 p.m. The object appeared as a round or box-shaped craft seen in a moving U, described as aluminum or silver in color. It was observed for 15 to 20 minutes at a distance. The observer noted the object faded blue in color and had a faded blue tint to the distance. The object turned to the southwest and moved away from the observer. The Air Force evaluated the sighting as a probably balloon.
