MKUltra Subproject 122 funded research to develop a technique for preparing and characterizing purified psilocybin, starting September 1960. The surviving paperwork shows a cost of $2,000.00 and names a redacted contractor as grantee. An accounting statement dated March 21, 1963 lists total expenditures of $2,000.00, including imported materials (kymographs, infusion pumps, time maker records), equipment purchases with foreign exchange funds, animals (cats, fowls, rabbits, dogs), surgical materials, and physiological instruments. The project appears to have involved animal testing and biological measurement. Status was listed as unknown. Financial records show obligations incurred on September 19, 1960 and liquidated September 29, 1960, with funds charged to Allotment 1525-1009-1902.
