Summary

On October 25, 1955, at Stewart Air Force Base in New York, military and civilian witnesses observed one bright object described as silver to red in color, round in shape, and about the size of a silver dollar held at arm's length. The sighting lasted 30 minutes and occurred north of the base during daylight hours. An intelligence officer who also observed the object reported it by telephone to the base. Visibility was unlimited and conditions were clear. The Air Force evaluated the sighting as a weather balloon.
