Summary

On July 13, 1955, a civilian in La Habra, California reported seeing an oblong, dark brown object moving faster than a jet. The sighting lasted 15 seconds and was observed from the ground during daylight hours. One object was reported traveling northeast at an angle of elevation of 33 degrees before fading out. The object was sighted at 2:49 p.m. with visibility of 25 miles. Two F-2-A aircraft were orbiting Van Nuys Airport in a landing pattern at the time. The Air Force noted insufficient data for evaluation but suggested the sighting might be a conventional aircraft.
