Summary

On December 8, 1957, at 12:02 a.m. near Bremerton, Washington, a civilian witness reported seeing a round object with a yellow glow. The object moved from 45 degrees in the east to 80 degrees in the west. The observation lasted 10 to 15 seconds. The object appeared about 500 feet up in the sky over a hill near a government post at 800 feet elevation. The Air Force evaluated this as a probable meteor sighting.
