Summary

On September 21, 1962, at 10:15 p.m., a civilian at Fork Union, Virginia observed a red object with a stationary red light on top and two red flashing red lights on the bottom. The object was first stationary, then moved off at incredible speed and left the witness's field of view in a few minutes. The Air Force received a letter requesting additional information to clarify how long the object remained stationary and which direction it moved as it disappeared. The case was listed as insufficient data for evaluation with the possibility of a weather balloon or prankster.
