Summary

On May 1, 1959, a sighting was reported in Miami, Florida. At 11:30 a.m., a witness walking back to an apartment in Coconut Grove, a southern section of Miami, observed an object in the sky when the sun was bright. The witness estimated it was about two to ten seconds in duration and would estimate it went about 40-50 ft in diameter. It was a dim white color, and the same intensity throughout the entire object. It appeared much like a balloon on a cloud, but there was no beam of light leading to it. The Air Force evaluation is listed as Unknown.

[Text partially legible] At 11:30 EST on May 1 I was walking back to my apartment in Coconut Grove, a southern section of Miami. I was looking toward the western direction of the sky when I was a bright, dim light in the distance, coming from part way west over my head. It was visible for about two to ten seconds and I would estimate it went about 40-50 ft in diameter. It was a dim white color, the same intensity throughout the entire object. It appeared much like a balloon on a cloud, but there was no beam of light leading to it.
