Summary

On May 1, 1950, near East Ely, Nevada, civilians reported seeing a silvery white object hovering about 100 feet above the ground. The object hovered and moved back and forth before shooting upward and away. Witnesses included a family returning from a picnic around 6:45 p.m. The object remained visible for about 10 minutes before climbing to gain altitude, then accelerated horizontally and vanished. Witnesses were roughly 2.5 to 3 miles away. The Air Force evaluation is listed as unknown.
