Summary

On January 7, 1950, at 12:24 a.m., a farmer near Gashland, Missouri, reported seeing one unidentified object. The object was brilliant white in color and moved northwest. It flew at an altitude between three and four thousand feet. The object made no sound and left no exhaust trail. The witness could not estimate the object's speed or heading with certainty. Weather conditions were clear. Photographs and sketches were not available at the time of the initial report. The Air Force indicated a complete report would follow upon receipt of additional correspondence from the witness.
