Summary

On July 23, 1954, at 2:40 p.m., a silver circular or spherical object was sighted in the sky near Milford, Ohio. The object was observed at approximately 45 degrees elevation in the southeast. One object was sighted and remained stationary. The observation duration was not reported. A civilian witness reported the sighting to Colonel J. M. Smith, Deputy Director of Civilian Defense for Greater Cincinnati and Hamilton County, who stated that both he and his wife had observed the object. The Air Force evaluation concluded the sighting was unidentified, though comments noted it was possibly sundog or possibly a balloon, with insufficient data for analysis.
