Summary

On October 10, 1962, at 11:03 p.m., a civilian in Chicago, Illinois reported an illuminated object with the appearance of a star in flight moving from west to east. The sighting lasted 15 minutes and involved one object. The witness considered the object a possible satellite and wanted to know if it was ECHO. ECHO data was not available for Chicago at that time, but ECHO was over Toronto, Canada 9 minutes after the sighting. The object would probably have been visible in Chicago. The Air Force evaluated the case as ECHO I.
