Summary

On May 20, 1958, at 12:11 a.m., a night watchman in Canton, Ohio reported seeing a cigar-shaped object about two to three feet in size. The object was white with a bright front and had streamers or a tail extending 300 feet behind it. The witness observed the object moving from east to west over a duration of three seconds. Weather conditions were clear with unlimited visibility. An airliner crew also reported seeing a similar object over Findlay, Ohio at approximately the same time. The object's course was east to west. The Air Force evaluated the sighting as a meteor.
