Summary

On April 1, 1961, at Clark Air Force Base, Philippines, multiple witnesses including CO, OCD, JOOD, and Lookout observed a white object of second magnitude. The object moved on an easterly course with a sighted bearing of 170 degrees elevation 15 degrees, traveling toward and across the southern constellation to a fixed bearing at an estimated elevation of 30 degrees. The object remained in sight for about 12 minutes. Observation occurred at 2 a.m. in clear bright night conditions with a third moon. Weather conditions showed ceiling and visibility unlimited with two tenths cloud coverage. No unusual activity was noted. No known air traffic was present. The object displayed all appearances of satellites witnessed in the past. No further evidence was reported. The Air Force evaluation is not specified in the available pages.
