On February 21, 1962, military personnel in the Pacific area reported a sighting. Two objects were observed. The first object, a small spherical white object, appeared above and to the right of a larger object at 2:09 a.m. local time on February 22. It was visible only through a 25x telescope. The objects moved to the southeast. A second smaller object traced visible only through the telescope was also reported. The observation lasted 20 minutes. An echo was detected at approximately 40 degrees north latitude 127 degrees east longitude (over Korea) at 9:28 a.m. The object appeared as bright as Sirius and passed over an area south of Betelgeuse, then approximately halfway between Orion and Sirius. 10. BRIEF SUMMARY OF SIGHTING
White object, 25 AZ 280 degrees going SE disappeared beyond horizon at 05 degrees elev, 13 degrees of arc 20 minutes observation. A lighter similar object tracing visible only through 25X Telescope. ECHO (similar object tracing visible only through [illegible]
Note: On Feb 22 7th Fleet was at 21.15N 131.40E which is consistent with Fleet maneuvers.

11. COMMENTS
At 0910Z Echo was at about 40 degrees N latitude 127 degrees E (over Korea.) At 0928Z it had moved to the equator at 127 degrees longitude (over Gilbert Islands). If the fleet was at 37 degrees N 144 degrees W or off the E coast of Japan this could be a confirmed Echo sighting. No location was given. However the fleet was Korean to be in this area and object in the sighting is probably Echo.
