Summary

On October 1, 1962, at 11.05 North 165.19 West in the Pacific, military personnel detected an object having starlight characteristics but moving at great speed. The object passed overhead at high altitude at 8:50 a.m. and moved rapidly with an initial bearing of 205 degrees and final bearing of 45 degrees at a position angle of 148 degrees. Visibility was clear with 3 feet seas and 5/10 cloud coverage. The observation duration was not reported. One object was sighted. ECHO data was not available, but the case was listed as a possible satellite based on the general description of the sighting. The Air Force evaluation was listed as unknown.
