Summary

On October 12, 1960, three military officers aboard a destroyer in Egypt sighted an unidentified object bearing 120 degrees at 5 degrees elevation. The object moved rapidly across the sky from east to southwest while accelerating and ascending. At 1:33 p.m., the object lost bearing at 120 degrees and 40 degrees elevation. Witnesses described the object as definitely not an aircraft or shooting star. Initial brightness was slightly brighter than first magnitude, then steadily diminished. The Air Force's conclusion listed the case as insufficient data for evaluation.
