Summary

On June 1, 1961, in Rose Center, Michigan, a witness observed what was thought to be a large trail of fire in the sky. The object appeared quickly as a ball of fire and disappeared rapidly. The witness was on Michigan Route 27 a few miles south of Rose Center when the sighting occurred. The object was just west of the sun and rose a few minutes later, appearing about 30 degrees above the horizon. The witness traveled west at approximately the same speed of the object. The Air Force evaluation was listed as unknown.
