Summary

On March 9, 1957, at dusk, a civilian in Colorado Springs, Colorado reported observing two objects that appeared to be connected and floating. The witness said the objects looked like they were about 5 to 6 feet apart but attached to each other. One object was brown and the other had a white letter or number on it. The objects were visible for one hour and fifteen minutes before they disappeared when the witness called to report them. The objects were viewed from the ground with binoculars and were estimated to be 5,000 to 6,000 feet above ground level. The Air Force concluded the sighting was a box kite.
