Summary

On May 3, 1956, at 2:48 a.m. in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, civilian and Air Force witnesses reported a sighting of seven silver objects in a V formation moving south at an estimated altitude of 5,000 to 15,000 feet and a speed of 36 miles per hour. The objects were described as baseball-sized. The sighting lasted ten minutes and was observed visually and on radar. The Air Force concluded the sighting was probably generated by birds based on the V formation, speed, and altitude of the objects, noting that further investigation was unlikely to reveal valuable data.
