Summary

On May 9, 1956, a civilian in Colorado Springs, Colorado reported seeing one round object about the size of a small pea held at arm's length. The object was fluorescent white and streaked across the sky overhead. The sighting lasted three seconds. About thirty seconds after the object disappeared, an explosion was heard. Upon investigation, the observer stated he thought the object was a meteor but reported it because of publicity given to a UFO report in Pueblo, Colorado. The Air Force concluded the sighting was a meteor.
