Summary

On August 1, 1961, in Seattle, Washington, a civilian reported an unidentified flying object. The observer believed the object to be a balloon. The witness took photographs of the sighting and requested forward photos for analysis. The Air Force received a courtesy copy of a letter sent to the Post Intelligencer newspaper about the photographs made of an unidentified flying object.
