Summary

On April 27, 1962, at approximately 8:20 p.m. E.S.T., a flying object was sighted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The object was roughly shaped like a Mercury Capsule with a sphere of light in the center. It traveled in a north-easterly direction and went out of range in less than ten seconds. The light shown continuously. There was no sound. The Air Force concluded the sighting was probably meteoric in origin, based on limited data and speeds in the range of meteors.
