Summary

On June 4, 1958, a civilian in Kansas City, Missouri reported seeing a small to large circular object that moved erratically and then disappeared behind trees. The sighting lasted one and a half hours. The object appeared stationary during the observation. A handwritten note on the investigation documents indicates the object appeared and disappeared in the same position for one and a half hours. The Air Force evaluation concluded the sighting was consistent with astronomical objects, specifically Spica and the planet Jupiter, which were at an azimuth of 210 degrees about 30 degrees elevation at the time of the report.
