Summary

On November 9, 1956, at 12:09 a.m., a civilian in Glen Avon, California reported seeing a long red object about the size of a dime held at arm's length. The object hovered in one spot, then just disappeared after being watched for three or four minutes. A meteor was sighted in the same area at the same time. The observation was ground-based and visual. The Air Force concluded the sighting was unidentified due to insufficient data.
