Summary

On October 20, 1960, a weather observer at Moody Air Force Base in Georgia sighted an object of moderate intensity. The object was first seen west of Moody AFB at elevation 52 degrees, azimuth west, moving north. At 12:14 a.m., the object was north-northwest of Moody AFB. It changed direction to northeast at 12:16 a.m. when the object was north-northeast of Moody AFB. At 12:32 a.m., the object lost sight at 15 degree elevation, north-northeast of Moody AFB. The sighting lasted 24 minutes. Four other persons observed the same object. The local Radarscope Agency was contacted and reported negative radar contact. No explanation was found for the possible cause or identity of the object.
