Summary

On May 27, 1952, at 1:15 p.m., an Arab boy fishing at Temara Beach in French Morocco called attention to an unidentified floating object estimated 1000 to 2000 yards offshore. The witness said it resembled a buoy marker or sunken ship and stated he had never seen anything like it before. An observer with over 900 hours of flying time over water noted the object was under observation for 20 to 30 minutes. The sea was calm with no white caps. The observer made a line of sight on the object with reference to three other objects and noted it did not move during the observation period. The observer could not locate the object at 1800 hours but was still unable to locate it on the morning of May 28 at 0700 hours despite nearly the same sea conditions and visibility. The object resembled a submarine periscope. The Air Force evaluation is unknown.
