Summary

On January 29, 1952, a USAF pilot in Falls Church, Virginia reported observing an object. The sighting occurred between 2:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. (times appear identical on record). The witness described a brilliant green spheroid with an orange and red tail. The object was narrower than its diameter and roughly three times the diameter of the spheroid in length. It traveled at high speed on a west-southwest course. The observation lasted 15 to 30 seconds. One observer stated the object did not resemble a meteor or meteorite he had previously seen.
