Summary

On September 15, 1962, at 11:20 to 11:30 p.m., a witness and a friend observed an unidentified flying object from a dock at the end of Steamboat Road in Greenwich, Connecticut. The bright, glowing object appeared well above the eastern horizon. Two lights came close together, then separated. The main object moved westward and made a 90-degree turn to the south. The witness heard a faint sound similar to high-altitude aircraft. As the object approached, three large lights became visible: two in front and one in the rear. A row of smaller lights was also seen. The lights blinked on and off regularly. The colors included red and possibly green. The object moved toward the west, then south, at great height and appeared very large. The Air Force evaluation was listed as unknown.
