Summary
On July 28, 1957, from about 9:40 p.m. to 10:05 p.m., a civilian at the Stamford Yacht Club in Stamford, Connecticut reported a sighting. The observation lasted about 22 minutes.
The witness saw what he described as great white lights with red, green, and blue colors that blinked on and off in steady timing. The first object was round, appeared over Long Island Sound, and slowly moved toward the shore before shrinking and vanishing. About five minutes later a second, similar object appeared near the same spot. The witness reported the two objects moving together, with one briefly forming jagged pieces of light, before each faded out over the land. Two airplanes passed overhead during the sighting.
The Air Force record (Project 10073, its official file for unidentified flying object reports) lists the case as insufficient data.
