Summary
On August 7, 1955, at dusk in Akron, Ohio, a civilian observer reported one pink object shaped like a streak heading southward. The object was watched for ten minutes before it disappeared in an upward direction at an estimated altitude of 15,000 feet. The sighting occurred during southerly winds. Air Force investigators noted the object's pink color and the timing at dusk, and concluded the sighting most likely represented a balloon.
