Summary

On May 7, 1956, a round object about the size of a half dollar was sighted near Canton, Alliance, and Springfield, Ohio. The object was held at arm's length by the observer and drifted very slowly toward the north over a period of twenty minutes. Only one object was reported. It was observed during the day moving with no sound. The Air Force headquarters concluded that the sighting was probably generated by a balloon based on the drifting duration and time of day.
