Summary
On February 3, 1956, a civilian observer in Luther, Michigan reported seeing a round object bright silver in color about 4 feet across. The object moved in a straight and level course until it faded below the horizon. The observation lasted 20 minutes and occurred at an elevation of 20 degrees and azimuth of 360 degrees, moving north. One object was reported. The Air Force concluded there was insufficient data for analysis. The duration and characteristics were not sufficient to support a definitive evaluation. A possible balloon was noted, but the data could not confirm this.
