MKUltra Subproject 36
1954 to 1955 · 36 documents · 52 pages
Summary
MKUltra Subproject 36 funded meetings and consultations related to approved MKUltra research projects. Between 1955 and 1956, the subproject provided travel, meeting site rental, food, and consulting fees. The total estimated cost for one year was $3,000.00. The surviving financial records show cash receipts and expenditures processed through the TSS/Chemical Division. The subproject was designed to bring together field specialists in their own areas to exchange ideas about approaches to MKUltra problems. Participants were sometimes unwilling to acknowledge government involvement, so no written record of participation was requested. The subproject was limited to situations not covered by other established MKUltra subprojects and was not used to cover expenses for Agency employees or regular consultants.
