Insufficient Data

Summary

On October 1, 1954, a Pan American Airlines captain reported an unidentified flying object over Zerbst, Germany. The pilot observed four to three objects flying in the Berlin Corridor, one to seven miles to the right of his aircraft at 5,000 feet altitude. The object appeared to be falling vertically with a trail like a flare. The glow was intense and concealed the object. No smoke was visible initially. When the object struck the ground, there was a boiling action and black smoke. The view was later obstructed by clouds. The Air Force concluded this was related to a munitions test with a short burning interval.
