Summary

On October 23, 1957, in Tehran, Iran, a consistent American observer with wife and servant watched for one and a half hours as a high vapor trail formed above the city going east to west. The object could not be seen, nor any noise heard. On the same night, a second observer also saw a high thin vapor trail in a straight line that appeared to be formed by an object moving at high speed. The contrail entered or went above a high thin cirrus cloud in the west and disappeared. The Air Force stated there was very little information upon which to base a conclusion, but the time in sight and motion of the contrail pointed to probable aircraft.
